J’Aree Hage’ began as a master artist and chemist who trained in Paris, Vienna and other European centers of study.
Hage ‘s exquisite artistry is reflected in the collection’s hand painted perfume bottles; a skill reflected in her grand Blue Heron Screen created in Paris in 1980. (below)
J’Aree Hage’ and her mother were inspired to create a perfume company through their extraordinary friendship with the American heiress, Irene Seiberling Harrison. As a frequent houseguest at Irene’s estate, Stan Hywett, Hage’ became immersed in Irene’s knowledge of perfume botanicals, youth preserving techniques, and arcane water lipid distillation methods. Such privately held secrets came from close personal friendships with the famous American seer, Edgar Cayce and the legendary American inventor, Thomas Edison. Irene enjoyed remarkable vitality and beauty to the age of 109.
